The exhibition project Boulevard du Centenaire Made in China, including the accompanying series of discussions and projections, aims to address the migration of Chinese people to Africa, taking the city of Dakar as an example.

The Senegalese artist Kan Si’s photo essay documents everyday life of Chinese traders on the legendary boulevard in the heart of Dakar, which in the past decade has ultimately turned into “China Town”.

The exhibition is part of the overall project pARTcours, Art in the City. Raw Material Company and Atelier Céramiques Almadies initiated this urban event to make alternative art locations in Dakar more visible.
