Tern Gallery in Nassau, The Bahamas presents The Underside, an exhibition that brings together works of Bahamian painter Keith Thompson and Bahamian-Jamaican photographer Delton Barret.

The artists examine what lies beneath the visual language of tourism, while diving into the lived realities of the Bahamas. Through the use of literal gloss materials such as varnish and resin, traditionally used to heighten beauty and obscure flaws, that shine becomes a strategy of critique, mirroring how the nation is polished for consumption while the fractures beneath are carefully concealed.
