Renaming-celebration for the Berliner M*street
On the occasion of the International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition (23 August) we demand - now for the sixth time - the still pending renaming of the colonial racist M*straße in Berlin.
The commemoration day and our celebration refer to the anniversary of the Black Revolution of Haiti on August 23, 1791. We would like to introduce to you the first African born academic in Germany and Prussia, ANTONWILHELM AMO (born 1703 in Ghana, teaching at the University of Halle, Jena and Wittenberg), whom we propose as the new name giver of the street.
