LIMBO / Zwischenraum - Remembrance and commemoration of the victims of colonialism and nationalism.

The Gallery Listros presents the exhibition LIMBO / Zwischenraum - Remembrance and commemoration of the victims of colonialism and nationalism. The art work LIMBO, a floating art object of eighty clothes-hangers, gives the title of this exhibition. The mobile object recalls the unresolved conflicts, sufferings, displaced and not reclaimed atrocities, wich leave the souls in "Limbo" - a floating state. LIMBO is one of the objects that were build during the Youth Art Workshop “Spurensuche“ ('TRACKING‘) under the direction of the international artists Satch Hoyt. Participating young people and adults from diverse backgrounds explored in the workshop series, the work of contemporary black artists. They discovered how the artists process black identities and the experience of oppression in their work . LIMBO is a visiting exhibition of Joliba e.V., under the direction of Catherine Oguntoye and the artistic direction of Satch Hoyt.
