Jelil Atiku at India Art Fair

Jelil Atiku will perform in the Forum at India Art Fair from 31 January – 2 February.

Taking place annually in the capital city of New Delhi, India Art Fair is the leading platform to discover modern and contemporary art from South Asia and a portal to the region’s cultural landscape. With a programme drawing together galleries, private foundations, arts charities, artists’ collectives, national institutions, festivals and more, it engages local and international audiences with the cultural history and development of the region. The twelfth edition of the fair will feature 75 exhibitions and be led by Fair Director Jagdip Jagpal.

Jelili Atiku’s performance titled Nobody is Born Wise which will take place on Friday 31 January and Saturday 1 February 2020 between 2pm to 6pm at the India Art Fair Grounds. In a live performance and installation, the Nigerian artist will invite audiences to re-enact the traditional ritual of colouring idol gods in yellow turmeric –– an activity that takes on the collective energy and deep intellectual, physical and spiritual strength of the masses.
