Form der Unruhe, Forma do Desassossego

Form der Unruhe, Forma do Desassossego
Form der Unruhe/Forma de Desassossego is a German-Brazilian exhibition project that focuses on the idea of migration – whether of bodies, ideas or objects – between the two countries and the ambivalent relationship between Europe and South America. The project creates a dialogue between artists residing in Brazil and Germany, and reflects on artistic practices as forms of expression and resistance, both in their political and aesthetic dimensions. In times of threats to women and minorities, when the cultural scene struggles against its oppression in the current political situation, the exhibition aims to create an intense collaboration between artists, local communities and the public in both countries.
The first exhibition took place in March at OLHÃO, an independent art space in Barra Funda in São Paulo created by artist and curator Cléo Döbberthin. The gallery's main objective is to exhibit and spark debate around contemporary practices in the field of visual arts. In April, the second exhibition will take place at LADØNS Gallery, MOM Art Space and Raum Linksrechts. These non-commercial art spaces were created over 12 years ago by the local community of artists and activists in the occupied Gängeviertel area of Hamburg. With the support of artist and curator Sam Gora, these galleries are central to the formation of
Hamburg's cultural art scene, featuring numerous workshops, galleries, concert halls and ateliers within their urban context.
The group involves nine artists, mostly Brazilians, all of whom have personal ties to Brazil - some live and work or have lived in Brazil and others currently live and work in Hamburg. Fernanda Galvão, Flávia Vieira, Juliana dos Santos, Ludgi Porto & Maitê Lacerda, Luísa Telles, Marc do Nascimento, Romeu Mizuguchi and Sam Gora work in different media such as performance, installation, painting and sculpture, many of them also with different backgrounds in history of art, music, psychology or architecture, which makes the group quite diverse. The program includes performances, lectures and guided tours to create a multidisciplinary reading of our practices throughout events in both cities. The exhibition was curated by Luísa Telles.
