Investec Cape Town Art Fair 2026

The 2026 edition of Investec Cape Town Art Fair gathered under the resonant concept “Listen”— an invitation to attend to peripheral narratives and the quieter infrastructures shaping contemporary art across the African continent and its diasporas.

As media partner, C& was drawn to presentations that privileged process, collaboration, and context over spectacle. Sections such as Tomorrows/Today foregrounded emerging and underrepresented artists, while curatorial frameworks shaped by voices like Beata America in “Cabinet/Record” which focused on photographic works. Tandazani Dhlakama’s “Generationsemphasized intergenerational dialogue among artists with shared concerns and contrasting approaches. Together among others, these positions expanded the fair beyond a marketplace into a site of critical discourse and sensorial inquiries.

The fair featured 126 exhibitors from 34 global cities, showcasing the work of over 490 artists, including 42 exhibitors making their debut, and welcoming 30,000 visitors and 10,000 VIPs. Our installation view offers a snapshot into the pulse of this 13th edition of the fair.
