Tegene Kunbi Receives Dak'Art Main Prize - Contemporary And

The Grand Prix Léopold Sédar SENGHOR goes to Ethiopian artist Tegene Kunbi at the opening of the 14th Biennial of Contemporary African Art 2022.

The Léopold Sédar Senghor Grand Prize from the President of the Republic for the 2022 Dakar Biennale went this year to the Ethiopian artist,Tegene Kunbi Senbento. This prestigious award has an envelope of 20 million FCfa. The artist Tegene Kunbi received his award from the President, Macky Sall, himself.⁠

⁠Born 1980 in Addis Abeba. Ethiopia. After receiving his BFA from the University of Addis Ababa in 2004, he continued his education at the Universitȁt der Künste Berlin, and continues to work and live in Berlin, Germany.⁠
